How it works
The formula behind this calculator.

Men: BMR = 10W + 6.25H − 5A + 5; Women: BMR = 10W + 6.25H − 5A − 161

W
Weight (kg)
H
Height (cm)
A
Age (years)

BMR is the calories your body burns at complete rest. Multiply by an activity factor (1.2 sedentary, 1.55 moderate, 1.9 very active) for total daily energy expenditure.

Example: 30 yr old male, 80 kg, 180 cm: BMR ≈ 1,780 kcal/day

Ref: Mifflin-St Jeor (1990)

Tips
  • 💡 Mifflin-St Jeor is the most accurate formula for most non-athletic adults.
  • 💡 Multiply BMR by an activity factor (1.2–1.9) to estimate daily calorie needs.
